Sonata K.209 by D.Scarlatti

As stated by Ralph Kirkpatrick, many Sonatas by Scarlatti form a diptych, sometimes even a triptych. The K.208 and k.209 belong clearly to the first form. In 2006 the Chanterelle published my transcription of the K.208. Now I am very happy to present to you my transcription of its sister.

The tonality and tuning of the K.208 has been obviously preserved in order to enable a continuous performance in concert. Besides this the advantage of this tuning in both sonatas is enormous. It extends the range, enables to play crucial notes of the harmony (specially in K.208), it is closer to the quite high pitch and lightness of the original.
